Gift Wrapping Tips: How to choose the right paper for your package

Gift Wrapping Paper Sheets: metallic, handmade, embossed

As I mentioned on my previous post there are very important things to consider before purchasing gift wrapping paper. We need to use it wisely. With so many options out there it can get a little tricky. Let's take a look at what types of papers are available.

There is heavyweight paper which is quite thick like the sheets shown on the image below. These are handmade Indian paper sheets.

Let's start with gift wrap rolls which is what people buy the most usually at department and discount stores. You find foil paper rolls, film like paper rolls. Some are peek proof others tear resistant and the list goes on a on.

You can find a pack of 8 rolls for about $7.00 or individual rolls for about $2.99. Today a roll at paper boutiques can cost you about $10.00.

Some rolls bring three sheets that are about 19" X 27" for $3.65 each. Or you can get a roll that is 3" X 9 feet for $9.95. Or you can get individual sheets like the ones on the first image above that are about 28" X 20" for $5.00 or more.

Although it is entirely up to you where to purchase your gift wrapping papers the most important thing is how you are planning to use it to make the most of it.

Is it quality or trend that determines your purchase? Send me your thoughts!
On my next post I will be sharing tips about how to combine papers into fun and interesting packages. Stay tuned!
