When it comes to paint selection indoor air quality is extremely important for us. We always choose paint low in volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
TIP: Did you know that when tint is added to paint the VOC gets higher?
We chose "Grass Root" Behr Premium Plus, Low Odour - ZERO VOC, Paint & Primer in One.
Depending on what condition your walls are you might need only one coat of paint when using Paint & Primer in One. Did you know that it dries in only three to four hours?
This Behr video below explains How to Paint Interiors, shows the paint options you need depending on your project, rooms and how to calculate how much you need.
TIP: Do you know how to calculate how much paint is needed for your project?
1- Multiply the width X the height of each wall.
2- Add your results for all the walls together to get the total walls square footage.
3- Multiply the width X the height of each window.
4- Add the totals of all windows and doors together to get the total windows and doors square footage.
5- Substract the total square footage for all widows and doors from the total square footage for all walls. This will give you the total for one coat. To calculate for more coats double the number.
6- Divide the total from step 3 by the coverage number on the back of the paint can to calculate how many gallons will be needed for your project.
Painting the new Tool Cabinet area walls is next. Stay tuned!
