Celebrating Gift Wrapping with Creative Gift Toppers: Ornament and Paper Pleated Fan

Creative Gift Toppers: Ornament and Paper Pleated Fan by Gabriela Delworth

Gift Wrapping is all about building a package with flare. Let's get into the facts.

  • We should be more conscious and use materials wisely avoiding unnecessary waste.
  • Think about paper scraps, ribbon scraps and more.
  • Remember that presentation is everything!
  • The way a gift is presented is far more important than the gift in itself.
  • First impressions are last impressions.
  • Gifts speak beautiful thoughts.
  • You will be known for your lovely packages.

On my previous post I mention the importance of collecting and selecting to design beautiful packages. I look for good quality papers in beautiful colours and interesting designs/prints that can be folded, pleated and cut easily. Always like combining papers when styling packages and make the most of them. No waste.

Creating unique gift toppers is what I enjoy the most. They tell stories. The receiver should be impressed and surprised by a beautiful keepsake.

This modern shocking pink and gold paper is perfect to create a simple story. Made a small Japanese style fan, secured it with a golden cord and ornament. Shown on the image above. I attached one of my Mini Scenes inside Glass Ornaments to the other package. This one is two gifts in one! Participants decorated their own at my latest workshop. Aren't they beatiful?

Have you started gift wrapping your presents? Have a few tutorials. Create a Forest with Deer topper, decorate with a Confetti Cut Bow Flower, make the most of those left over candy wrappers and cupcake liners. Turn them into Flowers!

Happy Gift Wrapping!
