Happy St. Patrick's Day! Shamrock surprise growing on my windowsill. Is this Irish luck?
Charles Nelson, one of Ireland's leading botanists, says "Shamrock exists only on St Patrick's Day. Every other day of the year it's known simply as young clover." My plant seems to be a "Wood Sorrell", oxalis acetosella. I believe the "ecosystem" on the windowsill where it is turned out to be quite perfect for it as it is a cool and sunny spot.
I would have thought it was the "work" of pollinators if it was outside but not this time. Irish luck it is! The funny thing is that it is growing so close to a Jade (popular succulent) plant call "the money plant"!
P.S. By the way, I will keep an eye on it for four leaves...You never know...Stay tuned!
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY EVERYONE!
