Plants propagation: how to root plant cuttings in water and get free baby plants.
Let's face it. Plants have become extremely expensive. Their new popularity has inflated their price even more. A 2" potted plant can cost you today about $3.00 before tax. That is a lot if you want to have a decent jungle at home like me!
Pothos cuttings can be propagated fairly easy. You need to look for brown root nodes located right below leaves. Here is where roots will develop. Remove leaves close to the node, make a cut and place your cuttings in water making sure root nodes are submerged.
In about 4 to 6 weeks once you see roots remove your cuttings from the water and plant them in soil. This is what I call a wise plant investment! Buy it once and make many more. Congratulations on your brand new plants.
TIPS: to keep their beautiful leaves shinny I spray them with filtered water mixed with a few drops of essential oil. Photos of our mature plants coming up soon.
Happy gardening!
